You can reset the controller by unplugging it for 15 minutes. However that should not be needed if you just need to adjust the output power. What you can do is test the wiring of the connector you found with a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to see if there is a stoplight switch circuit on the harness that you could use to install the Prodigy Brake controller part # 90885, but we do not have a plug in harness that will allow for brake controller installation on your vehicle. If not, then you will need to wire the controller up to the wiring of your brake switch like the install instructions for the # ETBC7 indicate.

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 is an excellent choice for a brake controller and one of our favorites because of how easy it is to setup and use. To install it you will want to make these connections:
White - Ground
Red - COLD side of the stop light switch (only gets hot when brake is pressed)
Black - Positive terminal on battery (using a Circuit Breaker # PTW2992 along that wiring)
Blue - Run to the brake controller function on your 7-Way

The Titan Disc Brake Kit and BrakeRite Electric-Hydraulic Actuator part # T4843800 comes with two breakaway batteries which are just small batteries responsible for applying the brakes on the trailer in the event it becomes detached from the tow vehicle and are required by law in most states. Therefore, yes you do need to install the breakaway batteries that come with the kit.

It is rated for weight distribution however the vehicle could not be and if that's the case then it should not be used. If the trailer you're wanting to pull has electric brakes, and you want them to operate, you will need a brake controller. Having a dealer-installed 7-way won't eliminate the need for a brake controller.

For a 4-pole trailer connector, you'll need part # 119178KIT. The wiring harness/converter would wire directly into the circuits feeding your taillight assemblies. I've linked you to a video showing the wiring harness being installed on a 2006 Honda Element. The wire colors on your Land Rover would be different, but the testing to determine which wire carries which circuit and the procedure would be very similar for your vehicle.
